Can the doctors take a picture of my brain and determine if I’m having seizures?

In general, brain imaging, especially with MRIs is very important in people with epilepsy.  The images are used to look for the causes of seizures but not at the seizures themselves.  For people with TBI, the location and extent of the brain damage might already been known.  However, in some cases, brain injury is more subtle and might not have been detected.  The MRI may show where the damage is and how serious it is, but cannot be used to determine if any specific set of symptoms are really seizures.
