Basic Function

To provide input to the Board and various publication committees on issues dealing with regular member communications (i.e., newsletter, journals, e-publications, etc.). Responsible for promoting AES missoin and goals via publications.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. To review and advise on general policy, operational, budgetary, and contractual issues related to AES print and electronic publications.
    1. Epilepsy Currents
    2. Epilepsia (ILAE)
    3. AES News
    4. Membership Directory
    5. News You Can Use (e-publication)
  2. Recommendations for the appointment and/or replacement of AES publication editors.
  3. Monitors the contribution of AES publications toward the goals of the Society.
  4. Monitors relationships between the AES publications, specifically potential issues of overlap, competition and/or redundancy.
  5. Develops strategies to increase distribution of AES publications.
  6. Explore mutually beneficial relationships with other epilepsy publications, including, but not confined to Seizure, Epilepsy & Behavior, and Epilepsy Research.
  7. Develop strategies to increase epilepsy publications in high quality neuroscience and neurology journals.
